The awRev Advance Wars Design Maps Database is a searchable collection of 1,351 playable, community-created Advance Wars maps and custom fan-made battlefields.

Players can browse and search Advance Wars Design Maps by map title, creator, gameplay category, game, map size, number of players, and tags. Map entries may include an image, creator attribution, description, metadata, categories, downloadable map file, and community comments.

The database currently contains 70 awRev maps and 1,281 recovered AWN Design Maps. These include competitive maps, campaign maps, themed maps, experimental maps, multiplayer maps, and other custom Advance Wars creations.

Advance Wars Revolution (awRev) is an active Advance Wars community website, strategy guide and walkthrough hub, and Design Maps platform. The database brings together restored maps from the original 2005–2007 awRev community and the historic AWN Design Maps community with new submissions from current Advance Wars players and creators.

The unified database brings together thousands of hours of Advance Wars map design, tactical experimentation, multiplayer balancing, campaigns, creative projects, and community history while maintaining creator attribution, contributor profiles, searchable records, and continued community participation.

Advance Wars Design Map History, Credits & Restoration

AWN Design Maps was originally created by Kamek and later maintained by The Sleeping Leg and Roma_emu. YoyoYoshi also served as an AWN Design Maps moderator, helping review and approve map submissions during the original community era.

The original awRev Design Maps section was created by Syzygy and served the awRev community during the site's original 2005–07 lifespan.

As websites, hosting, and archives disappeared over time, much of that shared map history became fragmented or inaccessible. This unified database was later restored and rebuilt by YoyoYoshi, including map recovery, metadata reconstruction, image matching, contributor attribution, and relational system design supporting restored historical collections alongside continued community growth and new submissions.

AWS Advance Wars Map Editor Download

Built by Roma_emu, AWS (Advance Wars Map Editor) helped make large-scale online Advance Wars map creation and sharing possible across communities like AWN and awRev.

Over time, thousands of player-created maps, strategies, experiments, and competitive ideas circulated through the system.

Works on Windows and Linux. Setup instructions are in the ReadMe.txt.
