Korean Peninsula, June 1950 – July 1953.
Following Japan's defeat in World War II, Korea was divided along the 38th Parallel, with Soviet forces occupying the North and American forces administering the South. Intended as a temporary arrangement, the division instead produced two rival governments, each claiming to represent the entire Korean Peninsula.
On June 25, 1950, North Korean forces crossed the 38th Parallel in an attempt to reunify Korea under communist rule. United Nations forces, led primarily by the United States, intervened in defense of South Korea, driving the North Korean army deep into the north before massive Chinese intervention transformed the conflict into a prolonged and costly war.
The Korean Armistice Agreement ended active hostilities in 1953, but no formal peace treaty was ever signed. The peninsula remains divided to this day, and the Korean War continues to shape security and diplomacy in East Asia.
This scenario recreates the full conflict across the Korean Peninsula, allowing players to command either coalition and determine whether the war ends in reunification or another stalemate.
Mission Objectives:
- Break through enemy defenses and seize the initiative.
- Secure control of the Korean Peninsula.
- Defeat all opposing forces.
Will history repeat itself, or can you reshape the future of Korea?
