July 5, 1943 Eastern Front, at the Kursk Bulge In one of the greatest tank battles in history, Operation Citadel was aimed at destroying the Soviet army at Kursk. If the Soviet army was defeated there, it would prevent them from launching any attacks for the remainder of the year. The offensive was originally planned at an earlier date but, poor weather and distractions from other fronts caused them to postpone the attack.The Soviet army were prepared by creating trenches and lining them with several anti-tank units. Originally the attack was called off after several days into the attack because the troops were needed to battle against the Allies at a different front. You can play as the Russians or you can change history and play as the Germans. Soviet Union (BM) VS Germany (GE) The cities are actual city locations (according to the map I used). The roads are actual railway lines. The forest line represents the boundary line of the Kursk bulge. Update 30 Jun 2005: added two tanks, moved one tank a little closer to the battle, and took out on md tank.
