*Created January 2008 (for the release of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin) *Mapgridded map: Goal was to include all of Finland and putting exact placement of cities, lakes, and railways Note: The megatanks shown on the map are actually supposed to be anti-tanks, but I don't see an AW:DOR map editor available. This map is a variation of the original "Winter War" mission that I made when I first got Days of Ruin. Since it's made for AW:DOR and is smaller, the map plays significantly differently from the original, though the mission is the same - drive out the Soviet Union! The map is completely made for FOW, as well. You face a more difficult predeployed force, but you don't have a first turn disadvantage nor a property disadvantage. --- Advance Wars 2 World War Two European Campaign Mission 2 Eastern European Front, Northeast Europe, November 1939 Mission Briefing: General, the Soviet Union want territories on the Finnish border as well as Finnish islands off our Baltic Sea Coast. They shall not have them! We will defend back against Stalin's invasion with dignity for the Allied Powers. Britain and France has pledged their support, but they have been unable to send it through Scandinavia, as Germany is putting in lots of pressure on Norway and Sweden. For now, we will have to fight along. Use the Mannerheim Line to your advantage, General. Do not disappoint us. The Finns are great fighters and we will prevail against the Communist threat in the East. Defeat their armies by then before they are able to rearm units from the Japanese border.
