This is the Advance Wars Revolution. More will be added to this Wiki later on.
The idea of a brand new Advance website for the release of Advance: Dual Strike came from General in the early hours of August 18, 2005, and was soon endorsed by DYY and YoyoYoshi. DarkRecon, MadJohnFlint, and Term1nal joined the project soon after and we decided on a name for this website. There were many names thrown out there for the website, 57 in all. Many of these were jokes, but a few stood out: Advance Empire, Advance Generation, Advance Genesis, Advance Online, and of course, Advance Wars Revolution. Originally, Advance Wars Revolution was intended to be part of Yoyo as a subsite due to the fact that YoyoYoshi just recently registered that domain.
By the end of the day, our first staffers' list was pretty much set, with help from Dark, FallenAngel87, Firefox, Kai, MoogleGunner, and The_Roses_Thorn. The staff talked about the beginnings of the site - namely a phpBB-based forum, a gallery, and of course, the website itself, focusing on guides. The website domain was also reserved, making Advance Wars Revolution a domain website from the beginning.
Term1nal put up the forums on August 20, which on Opening had a grand total of 573 posts, 55 topics, and 22 new members. This type of activity was prevalent for the early days of the community. The forum adopted a set of reasonable rules that have been barely changed to this day, and began with 7 sub-boards, which has since been increased. Totally became its own subforum the following day. The forum began with three admins: DYY, Term1nal, and YoyoYoshi. The choice for the first moderator position was determined by a dice roll on AOL Instant among Firefox, MadJohnFlint, and The_Roses_Thorn. The_Roses_Thorn won and thus became the first moderator.
Meanwhile, nol888 had joined the staff, promising to make Advance Wars Revolution a website layout. However, YoyoYoshi made the first website layout on the 21st and nol888 instead updated it. Later on, Term1nal delivered a grand layout that was used for an entire year, one recognizeable to the vast majority of people that have visited prior to August 2006.
Advance Wars Revolution has been providing a forum service based on advance wars for all who wish to use it ever since August 2005 apart from a brief stint in August 2006 where someone forgot to pay the bandwidth bill. Contrary to popular belief the site was not taken over by a motorcycle site in the meantime.
The army system was a game based on Kings of Chaos which was played by members of the Advance Wars Revolution. It has suffered various bugs and glitches which has lead to low popularity amoungst Forum users. It is currently indefinitely missing.
